The 11th season of the High Desert International Film Festival has begun. The annual event will again take place over the Memorial Day weekend, May 25-28, 2017. Rodney Camacho, Executive Director has issued a call for entries through Film Freeway again this year and has begun to receive films already.

The annual poster competition is underway with PVHS art instructor, Crystal Dabrowski, involving both the fall and spring semester art students in the competition. This year’s theme is “The Magic of Film.”

Our 2016 HDIFF Youth Film Camp production “Dangerous Games” has been selected from several hundred international submissions to screen at the International Family Film Festival in Los Angeles as a part of their YOUTH FEST on Saturday, October 22, 2016. The youth film has been met with great reviews.

We have exciting news about the 2016 HDIFF Youth Film Camp production “Dangerous Games.” The film has been selected from several hundred international submissions to be screened at the International Family Film Festival in Los Angeles as part of their YOUTH FEST on Saturday, October 22, 2016.
Several members of the cast and crew are attending along with their families to represent the film.
A spokesperson from the festival said that the judges were very impressed with the film and that it carried a “very powerful” message to young people. They also remarked that the film was very well crafted.
